Questions and final response:

After attending the public meeting in Billericay yesterday, I found from the fire brigade report that the highest interventions in the area is to the Buttsbury Ford.

1. I would like to know how much each intervention costs the taxpayer?

Please find attached an Excel spreadsheet containing the costs for each of the incidents Essex County Fire and Rescue Service attended at Buttsbury Ford in the last 12 months.

2. What changes can be set up so people stop wasting fire brigade's time?

Create a joint working group with relevant stakeholders to look at the possible solutions to reduce the flooding risk in this area. Introduce further active control measures to alleviate the number of vehicles getting stuck in water at periods of flooding in this area.

3. Do we write to the highways panel to ask for a review of road signs?

Please contact Essex Highways on https://www.essexhighways.org/tell-us/report-all-issues.aspx

4. Is there a successful system in place elsewhere in the country we could replicate here?

Essex Highways may already have control measures in place at other locations which are prone to flooding in spate weather conditions and vehicles getting stuck in water during these periods. Please contact Essex Highways for further details.
