Questions and final response:

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from the local Fire Authority:

1. I would like to know the most recent data for how many residential buildings (11m +) in your authority which have been identified as having fire safety concerns

From 1st January 2017 to date, 197 residential properties 4 storeys and higher had a notice of deficiencies (fire safety concerns) served after an audit.

2. As a result of these concerns how many currently have 24 hour waking watches (fire wardens) in place

Six residential buildings in the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service (ECFRS) area have a permanent waking watch due to fire safety concerns.

3. The length of time these waking watches have been in place

We do not store this information.

4. Of these buildings how many times has the fire service been called to fires or suspected fires at these buildings since June 2017.

ECFRS attended five fires and 12 false alarms between January 1 2017 and June 31 2020.
