Questions and final response: We are reaching out to you on behalf of EVFT.eu, a project dedicated to creating a comprehensive global database of electric vehicle fires.

Our mission is to provide accurate and reliable information to the public and professionals to improve prevention, detection, and response to these kinds of incidents.

We recently came across an incident involving an electric vehicle fire that occurred on March 13, 2024, at a salvage yard in Rochford, and we'd like to know more.

Is there an incident report or any relevant details your department could share about this incident?

If not, could you please provide any available information by answering the following questions:

- A detailed description of the incident

- Information about the electric vehicle involved:- VIN (if available) -

Model

- Year of manufacture

- The cause and origin of the fire (if determined)

- Information about the firefighting response:

-The duration of the fire/response

- Methods used for extinguishing the fire

-Any challenges encountered during the response

- Water usage

I attach an extract of the fire report for Incident 228648 Salvage yard, site h, Brickfields Way, Rochford, Essex, SS4 1NB which occurred on 13th March 2024.

We have no further detail on the Make/model of vehicles involved in this incident.

Our National Operation Guidance Implementation lead is interested in reading your findings and the project outcome, when published.
