Questions and final response:
Question 1 – We are trying to raise the profile of hoarding and associated risk to life, to help with he discussions
I am asking for help with data. To gain the wider attention of senior leadership and hopefully some investment opportunities data will help me raise the issue in a more strategic view.
This may help to develop a pilot for home support and influence a wider strategy around this topic and challenges facing many people and services .
It has become more apparent people are living in extremely unsafe situations and very high risks . It is clear sometimes the hoarding behaviours or collecting behaviour is deemed a lifestyle choice and not a eligible support need, I’m concerned we will not get the right support without more stats and data.
We need to evidence in more detail from a range of sources to get the right attention and I hope some investment. Is there any direct data in the fire service systems which can be shared not related to names or specific addresses due to GDPR but any data which can reflect the referrals with hoarding as a primary concern?
Number of house fires which have hoarding/clutter related connections to the fire?
Do we have any Near death or death reports which are related to falls crushed etc via hoarding or collecting? In the Southend on sea area.
