How many females applied to be wholetime firefighters in 2023?
All responses to the four questions, relate to Essex County Fire & Rescue Service (ECFRS) Wholetime Firefighter recruitment campaign, this campaign ran from September 2022 until September 2023, recruiting for 3 Wholetime Firefighter “squads” that began in March 2023, August 2023, February 2024.
Within this period, 294 people who declared as female applied to be a wholetime firefighter.
Question 2 – How many males applied to be wholetime firefighters in 2023?
Within this period, 2353 people who declared as male applied to be a wholetime firefighter.
Question 3 - How many female firefighters were successful in becoming wholetime firefighters in 2023 after the recruitment process?
Within this period, 7 people who declared as female were made offers to be a wholetime firefighter.
Question 4 - How many male firefighters were successful in becoming wholetime firefighters in 2023 after the recruitment process?
Within this period, 59 people who declared as male were made offers to be a wholetime firefighter.
