Thank you for your request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Please find our response to your request below.
1. Please tell me if fire fighters are provided with specific training related to hybrid vehicle fires, what this training comprises, and how long the training sessions are.
Firefighters are provided with training via an E-training presentation and an Operational Article. All front line appliances have access to information via the Mobile Data Terminal.
2. Please provide me with electronic copies of training documentation provided to fire fighters for electric vehicle fires.
A more detailed training provision is in the planning process and is being developed in line with vehicle manufacturers guidance. This further training will be delivered to all operational personnel in due course.
3. Please tell me if your brigade has purchased extra equipment to tackle electric or hybrid vehicle fires. If so, please tell me what this equipment comprises.
The service has not purchased any bespoke equipment for dealing with electric/hybrid vehicles.
