Question 1 -I am writing a Fire Prevention Plan for a proposed wood processing and RDF bale storage yard at the following location: Baltic Wharf, Rochford, SS4 2HA.

The National Grid reference for the site is TQ 93408 95003.

Please can you let me know: the location of the nearest fire hydrant?

 

Please see the attached map showing the locations of hydrants within the area requested.

The nearest fire hydrant, No.49/449 is a statutory fire hydrant sited on a 100mm water main.

 

Question 2 - if it complies with BS 750?

 

Hydrant 49/449 complies with BS 750.

 

Question 3 – the flow of the water?

 

Essex County Fire & Rescue Service (ECFRS) do not flow test statutory fire hydrants.

The local Water Authority will be able to arrange a flow test on this particular hydrant.

You should contact them directly to arrange a test, if required.

 

Question 4 - if it is maintained by the F&R Service?

 

The hydrant 49/449 is maintained by ECFRS.
