Question 1- I am trying to track some information with regards to my grandfather, Bit of a long shot, but I was wondering if you have anything in your archives relating to and car accident on 11th June 1980.
I’m led to believe a fire engine was on its way to the scene at half way house but crashed and then another unit was dispatched to the scene.
But I’m unable to find any information regarding this.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service hold Incident information dating back to 2009, so we are unable to help directly with the information that you request.
The Home Office keeps data for 70 years, the email that you can send your request to request a search is firestatistics@homeoffice.gov.uk
Alternatively, you can contact the Essex Records Office in Chelmsford to request a search to see if they are able to locate the incident at this email address ero.enquiry@essex.gov.uk .
