Question 1 - For the following questions, please can you share annual data from 2018 to the present day (latest published data), also split by month if possible. If the request is likely to go beyond the allowed time frame, please respond to the above questions in order of priority.

1. How many fires in the home were reported to the fire service, split by region? (not including garden fires)

2. What were the sources of ignition for fires in the home that took place during this period?

3. What was the number of false alarms for this period?

Our Transparency website https://www.transparency.essex-fire.gov.uk/incident/ has all of the information requested, data is available from 2009/10 to present year.

To find the information that you request, download the applicable year from the ‘select category’ dropdown on the left-hand side of the page.

You are then able to select from the various fields, Incident category (column I) has the category of call so False alarm and fire can be selected from here. Property and Property sub type (column N and O) select the types you require. Main cause and Ignition source (column U and V) can be then selected to provide the data.

Regional information can be selected using Ward and District (column AC and AD)
