Thank you for your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I can confirm that Essex County Fire & Rescue Service does hold this information.

Please see below the answer to your request.

Initial Request:

1) Please provide the number of incidents involving fire engines hitting pedestrians or cyclists broken down by calendar year for the last five years, including 2019 to date.

2) Please provide details of each incident, including:
a) the reported cause (i.e. reckless driving, adverse weather conditions etc.
b) whether individuals (including fire brigade staff and members of the public) were hurt and what their injuries were and/or if there were fatalities.

3) Please provide details of financial compensation to the individuals (including staff and members of the public) involved. If no compensation figure can be given for individual cases, please provide a total figure for the year.

 Final Response:

There have been no incidents involving Essex County Fire and Rescue Service Fire Appliances hitting pedestrians or cyclists during the past five years.
