Question 1 – We are writing to you regarding recent concerns raised by Epping Forest District Council (EFDC) over the handling of a specific project, x__Hlk128498685namely 275 High Street, Epping, CM16 4DAx__Hlk128498685, by PWC. In summary, the concerns raised specific to Essex Fire and Rescue are that the Freeholder of the building has had a Fire Risk Assessment carried out which has identified what they consider to be a serious breach of fire compartmentation at the protected stair enclosure to another occupancy above the shop resultant from the installation of extract ductwork serving a commercial kitchen. CICAIR also understands that at the time EFDC raised its concerns with CICAIR that there was an outstanding consultation with you to be completed before PWC could issue the final certificate. It may be that there are other possible contraventions, but does not believe these relate to matters within the remit of Essex Fire and Rescue. CICAIR would be grateful if Essex Fire and Rescue could please share any information it has in relation to this project, and more specifically in relation to whether any contravention notices have been issued, or enforcement action taken you. ?
