FOI / 3892 / 2018 - ALP unavailable/off the run

Thank you for your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I can confirm that Essex County Fire & Rescue Service does hold this information.

Please see below the answer to your request.

Initial Request:

I would like to know how many times each ALP has been recorded off the run/unavailable due to:

1. scheduled servicing

2. Mechanical fault- type of fault.

From the period of 1st January 2012 to November 9th 2018 please include the date when it was absent from home station due to above reasons, the date it subsequently returned, a reason for the absence and ALP callsign.

Final Response:

Please find the data attached in the excel spreadsheet in relation to your request.

We don?t specifically record when an appliance is Off The Run (OTR) due to scheduled servicing or the type of mechanical fault encountered, so please find attached closest matches.

Prior to our 4i system being implemented, free text was used for OTR reason. When we changed over to the 4i mobilising system on 21 September 2016 we moved to OTR codes. At this point, OTR reasons became more descriptive.

Please note that ALP call signs changed from A5 to A1 in June 2018 except for 70A5 which is no longer active. Also, no OTR data is available for 01 Jan 15  to 08 Jun 15. Both situations are accounted for in the data.

Thank you for your interest in Essex County Fire & Rescue Service.
