Question 1 - On Saturday 4th November 2023 a bonfire was held at the site of Widdington Recycling Hollow Road Widdington. CB11 3SL.The fire was attended by the local fire brigade, as far as I am aware they took no action. The fire continued until the evening of Sunday5th December 2023. Some residents in Widdington felt that the smoke was toxic (not just wooden pallets). The belief being that WR had taken the opportunity to burn items precluded from land fill. Please investigate this belief.
We have 5 incidents relating to the Widdington Recycling, Hollow Road, Widdington for this period.
We attended the above site four times over the period 4 th/5th November 2023. I have attached a fire report for each incident.
The Officer in Charge has reported that it was a bonfire burning under control/controlled burn on each occasion.
