Questions and final response:

Can you confirm if risk assessments for health risks caused by noise had been conducted by or on behalf of Essex County Fire and Rescue Service from the period from January 2000 to the 6th April 2008 under Noise at Work Regulations 1989 and also from the period from the 6th April 2008 to January 2009 under The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 (Noise Regulations 2005)

Specific area of interest for the above request is fire ground operations including noise during Training, Vehicles (all vehicles in service covering the time periods requested above) sirens inside and outside of the cab compartment, Pump operation and Other ancillary equipment (all equipment in service covering the time periods requested above).

Our Health & Safety (H&S) department got new survey meters in 2015. There are 3 risk assessments recorded before 2015, one in 2014 and two in 2013 but nothing to do with front line appliances or training. The H&S department did have noise assessment equipment before this date.

Thank you for your interest in Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, we hope this satisfies your request.
