Thank you for your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. We can confirm that Essex County Fire & Rescue Service does hold the information you have requested.

Questions and final response:

1. Does the Fire and rescue service outsource and use 3rd party suppliers under any of the following 3 categories?

-  IT Hardware/Software. – computer, laptops, servers etc.

ECFRS does not use 3rd party suppliers for computers or laptops. Server SAN support is in place. However the SAN has now been decommissioned and the SAN support contract will not be renewed.

- IT Support. Someone who manages IT who is not in house, such as emails, support tickets etc

We do not use 3rd party suppliers for emails or support tickets.

- IT Services and communication. – cloud hosting, phone lines, VoIP etc.

We do not use 3rd party support for VOIP or phone lines. Cloud hosting is a new concept for us and we are planning to use Microsoft Azure.

2. If so who are the suppliers/resellers used and what has the spend been with them in the last 6 months? 

HP, contract value £12000 PA for SAN. 

3. Who are the contacts/procurement in the Fire and rescue service to speak with in order to get added as an IT supplier to the Fire and rescue service?
